Project Myths
- “The University is implementing the advancement Banner module”.
Banner is an important source of data for the University and for the advancement community. As such, the study and understanding of Banner will be included in the technical assessment and gap analysis discussions. However, no solution can be prescribed (such as implementing Banner) until the outcome of the Discovery Phase is finalized. In other words, until we know the sets of problems that need to be addressed, we will not be prescribing a solution. Therefore, any rumors about solutions being implemented by this project are just that – rumors.
- “The Project will be deploying a solution this summer (07) while the advancement community is getting ready for the University’s Campaign.”
The Discovery Phase will end with the set of recommendations to the Executive Oversight Committee during the latter part of July 07. It is our expectation that a decision will then be made as to which solution (if any) should be implemented, how is it going to be implemented, when, and which team will lead the effort. Therefore, there are no solutions being deployed this summer.
